Web Content

For many small to medium businesses the effort to maintain website content is a significant overhead. With proper planning, both the creation and the later maintenance of web content can be outsourced, without losing the character of your business and branding.

The basic strategy is for you to decide “WHAT” you want to publish (which can be in a rough outline format) and for use to decide “HOW” we present that in the best way to make your content attractive to your customers. There are 3 major aspects of web content creation:

Testing

A key aspect of web content is linking pages where your site visitors can find further information. Broken links are a major issue that discourages visitors from staying on your site. As part of our content creation services, we can also offer linkage testing and performance testing.

Depending on where you host your website, you cannot always be sure that the site information is accessible whenever you want. To monitor site access, you must make regular site visits, several times a day, and make sure that your site provides the service you want it to offer. If the hosting service is not reliable you may need to consider moving your business elsewhere.

Following up on the site performance is a tedious exercise. We created a robot process to automate site visits, and to confirm that the site is responding within the parameters you have set. To monitor your website performance, we can invoke individual pages on rotation around the clock, maybe once or twice a month, using extracts of web pages to find external site links, and to follow those references to confirm the link is still working.

Like your website, external websites undergo periodic maintenance, and while you make every effort to maintain the consistency of your website over time, other providers may not be so careful, so a link to information on another site may be here today and gone tomorrow.

Our robot will automatically extract external references and track where they occur in your website. That means only one external site access is required for each unique link, no matter how many times we encounter that in different parts on your website. All we need is an updated version of your site. When a broken link is found, we create an E-mail outlining what is broken so that you can decide how this should be fixed.
